Iran's foreign minister claims that the US breached international law by carrying out lethal operations against the Houthi rebels in Yemen, who are backed by Tehran.

In a statement, ministry spokesperson Esmaeil Baqaei denounced the US's barbaric airstrikes as a "gross violation of the principles of the UN Charter" and "strongly condemned them."

With a vow to employ "overwhelming lethal force" until the Houthis stop attacking ships along a crucial maritime route, US President Donald Trump claimed he launched a series of airstrikes on the Houthi-held portions of Yemen on Saturday.

According to the Houthis, at least 31 individuals were slain.

Additionally, he threatened to hold Iran "fully accountable" for the activities of its proxy and cautioned the country to cease aiding the rebel organization.
